Narrative

A high peak in the Admiralty Range between Mts Herschel and Humphrey Lloyd, in northern Victoria Land. Discovered on 15 February 1841 by Ross, who named it for the Very Reverend Dr George Peacock, Dean of Ely, a member of the committee of the British Association for the Advancement of Science, set up in 1838 to lay before the British Government the desirability of sending an expedition to Antarctica.
