Narrative

A mountain on the long ridge between Mount Erebus and Mount Terror on Ross Island. It is snow-covered except for its peak which rises to approximately 2095m. Feature shown on: NZ AntTopo50-ME14

Named For

The island was first explored by the British National Antarctic Expedition (Discovery Expedition, BrNAE), 1901-04, under Scott, who named this peak for the Terra Nova, one of the relief ships for this expedition, and also the expedition ship for the British Antarctic Expedition (Terra Nova expedition, BrAE), 1910-13.
