Narrative

A lake about 1 km south of Lake Vereteno in the eastern part of the Vestfold Hills. The lake, which resembles a seal in plan, has been visited by ANARE parties since 1957.

Named For

Named after D Cowan, weather observer at Davis in 1969, who was a member of an ANARE party which passed the lake on the way to Platcha in March, 1969.
