This name originates from Norway. It is part of the Norway Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Glaciated area, about 16 km long and 7 km wide, in the S part of Milorgfjella, Heimefrontfjella in Maudheimvidda. After Tælavåg, a small fishing village near Bergen. Used by Norwegian agents from England. This fact was disclosed in 1942, and the village was completely destroyed by fire. All males between 16 and 60 years were deported to Germany, where half of them died. Women, children and old people were imprisoned in Norway.
