This name originates from United States of America. It is part of the United States Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Ice-filled inlet indenting the N side of Siple Island just W of Armour Peninsula, along the coast of Marie Byrd Land. The inlet was first roughly delineated from air photos taken by USN Operation HighJump in January 1947. Named by US-ACAN for the Armour Institute of Technology, Chicago, which donated funds to the USAS, 1939-41, for purchase of the Snow Cruiser.
