Partially mapped by the NZGSAE, 1957-58. Mapped by USGS from surveys and U.S. Navy aerial photography, 1960-63. Named by US-ACAN for Cdr. Ronald K. McGregor, USN, leader of Antarctic Support Activities at McMurdo Station, winter party 1962.
