Island nearly 2 mi long, consisting of twin summits which are almost separated by a narrow channel strewn with boulders, lying 5.5 mi N of the W end of Laurie Island in the South Orkney Islands. Discovered and charted in 1823 by British sealer James Weddell, and so named by him because of its peculiar shape.
