Narrative

Peak, 2,030 m, standing at the head of Hette Glacier, at the S end of the group of peaks just E of the mouth of Byrdbreen in the Sor Rondane Mountains. Mapped by Norwegian cartographers in 1946 from air photos taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition, 1936-37, and in 1957 from air photos taken by USN Operation HighJump, 1946-47. Named Sorhjelmen (the south helmet) by the Norwegians because of its position in the group.
