Bay, 1 mi wide and indenting 2.5 mi between Mitchell Peninsula on the N and Robinson Ridge and Odbert Island on the S, in the Windmill Islands. First mapped from air photos taken by USN Operation HighJump and Operation Windmill in 1947 and 1948. Named by the US-ACAN for Lt. Robert S. Sparkes, USN, military leader at Wilkes Station in 1958.
