This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

The narrow ridge centred 900 m S of Silistra Knoll, 1.6 km E of the summit of Peshev Ridge, 2 km NNE of Vazov Point, 2.45 km WNW of Aytos Point and 1.7 km W of Christoff Peak. The feature is 1.3 km long and descending in NNW-SSE direction, with highest point of elevation approx. 550 m located at its N extremity adjoining the col linking Silistra Knoll and Peshev Ridge. Surmounting Boyana Glacier to the SW, S and E. Named after the Bulgarian town of Balchik.
