This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The ice-free point on the SW coast of Robert Island situated 6.8 km SE of Negra Point, 1.8 km ESE of Beron Point, and 2 km NW of Edwards Point. Forming the NW side of the entrance to Micalvi Cove. British mapping in 1968. Named after the Bulgarian writer and historiographer Zahari Stoyanov (1850-1889).
