Narrative

La Expedición Alemana al mando de Dallmann, 1873-1874, que descubrió el archipiélago Melchior, no descubrió este canal. La Expedición Antártica Francesa al mando del Dr. Jean B. Charcot, 1903-1905, creyó que las islas Eta y Omega eran una isla grande. El personal del Discovery, en 1927, levantó este archipiélago en forma incompleta. El nombre corresponde al apellido del capitán de navío Carlos Borrowman Sanhueza, comodoro de la Expedición Antártica Chilena de 1970-1971. Canal que se forma entre la isla Eta, por el N, y la isla Omega, por el S, en el archipiélago Melchior que se ubica en el centro de la bahía Dallmann, archipiélago de Palmer.
