This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The island in the Dunbar group off the N coast of Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands situated 1.5 km NW of Slab Point and 2.8 km N of Kotis Point. Extending 600 by 300 m. Bulgarian mapping in 2009. Named after the settlement of Balsha in Western Bulgaria.
