This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The ice-free hill rising to 152 m on Desolation Island off Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands. Situated in the NW part of the island, 2.1 km NNW of Iratais Point and 1.2 km SSE of Cape Danger. Surmounting Kozma Cove to the E and Hero Bay to the S and SW. British mapping in 1968, and Bulgarian in 2005 and 2009. Named after the Burel region in Western Bulgaria.
