This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky, partly ice-free peak rising to 650 m in Poibrene Heights on Oscar II Coast, Antarctic Peninsula. Situated 2.95 km WNW of Ravnogor Peak, 3.94 km NNW of Kaloyanov Peak, 4.7 km E of Andreev Nunatak and 3.8 km SSW of St. Sava Peak. Overlooking Punchbowl Glacier to the W. Named after Asen Chakarov, engineer in the first Bulgarian Antarctic campaign in 1987/88.
