This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky, partly ice-free peak rising to 1200 m on the E coast of Charlotte Bay, Danco Coast in Graham Land. Situated next NNW of the terminus of Bozhinov Glacier, 7.55 km ENE of the E side of the entrance to Giffard Cove, and 8.7 km SE of Meusnier Point. British mapping in 1978. Named after the Bulgarian enlightener and revolutionary Matey Preobrazhenski - "Mitkaloto" (Mono Seizmonov, 1828-1875).
