This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky island off the E coast of Robert Island in the South Shetland Islands extending 1.05 km in E-W direction and 350 m wide. Ending in Kitchen Point to the E, and separated from the main island to the W by a 100 m wide passage formed as a result of glacier retreat at the end of the first decade of 21st century. Named after the ancient Thracian town of Tirizis in Northeastern Bulgaria.
