This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The ice-free island off the W coast of Barison Peninsula, Graham Coast on the Antarctic Peninsula extending 1.15 km in SE-NW direction and 400 m wide. Separated from Eijkman Point to the S by a 220 m wide passage. British mapping in 1971. Named after the settlement of Bablon in Southern Bulgaria.
