This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The 2.3 km wide passage separating Rogozen Island, Heywood Island and Pordim Islands from the NW coast of Robert Island in the South Shetland Islands. British mapping in 1968 and Bulgarian mapping in 2009. Named after the settlements of Izgrev in Northern, Northeastern, Southeastern and Southwestern Bulgaria.
