This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The northern of two rocky islands in Smyadovo Cove on the W coast of Rugged Island in the South Shetland Islands. Situated 1.04 km S of Cape Sheffield and 500 m N by E of Ugain Point. The feature is 500 m long in E-W direction and 140 m wide. Separated from Rugged Island to the N and Toledo Island to the S by 70 m and 60 m wide passages respectively. Spanish mapping in 1992 and Bulgarian mapping in 2009. Named after the settlement of Prosechen in Northeastern Bulgaria.
