This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky island lying 700 m off the NW coast of Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago, 7.22 km N by E of Cape Monaco and 6.8 km S of Gerlache Point. The feature is 1.22 km long in SE-NW direction and 460 m wide. British mapping in 1974. Named after the settlement of Chukovezer in Western Bulgaria.
