This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky island lying 470 m N of Quinton Point on Goten Peninsula on the NW coast of Anvers Island in the Palmer Archipelago. The feature is 630 m long in SE-NW direction and 350 m wide. Separated from Temenuga Island to the E by a 140 m wide passage. British mapping in 1980. Named after the settlement of Kalotina in Western Bulgaria.
