This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

The mostly ice-covered island in the Pitt island group of Biscoe Islands that is separated from the adjacent Jingle Island to the NE by a 60 m wide passage, and situated 700 m NE of Weller Island and 730 m ESE of Krivus Island. The feature is 1.17 km long in SW-NE direction and 700 m wide. British mapping in 1971. Named after Tambra Hill in Southern Bulgaria.
