Origin

This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

The narrow rock-tipped point projecting 600 m westwards into Dallmann Bay, and forming the NE side of the entrance to Buragara Cove on the W coast of Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago. Situated 2.08 km NE of Zabel Point, 8.5 km ENE of Gand Island and 4.68 km SSW of Fleming Point. Formed as a result of the retreat of Rush Glacier at the turn of the 21 century. Named after the settlement of Devene in Northwestern Bulgaria.
