This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

The 12 km long and 4 km wide glacier on Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago, situated NE of Hippocrates Glacier and SW of Mackenzie Glacier. Drains the SE slopes of Stribog Mountains, flows east-southeastwards and enters Pampa Passage S of Momino Point and N of Pinel Point. British mapping in 1980 and 2008. Named after the ancient Roman station of Balanstra in Western Bulgaria.
