Origin

This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

The mostly ice-covered ridge rising to 1150 m (Mount Cabeza) on Albena Peninsula, Brabant Island in the Palmer Archipelago. Extends 11 km in E-W direction and 4.7 km in N-S direction, and is connected to Stribog Mountains to the W by Viamata Saddle. Surmounts Paré Glacier to the NW, and has its N and S slopes drained by Chumerna Glacier and Grigorov Glacier respectively. British mapping in 1980 and 2008. Named after the settlement of Stavertsi in Northern Bulgaria.
