Great Wall Station built in February 20, 1985, is located in the south of King George Island of South Shetland Islands in west Antarctica(62° 12" 59" S, 58° 57" 52" W). The average altitude of the station area is 10m. The station is 17,502km away from Beijing. Great Wall Station has already taken shape with more than 30 buildings, more than 20 vehicles, a better science lab and is equipped with all variety of instrument for scientific researches. Great Wall Station can accept 40 staff annually in winter and 80 staff in summer.
