This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

The icecap area situated south of Zhaojun Di, approximately 900km from Zhongshan Station and on the investigation route to the highest spot of Antarctic ice cap has an elevation of about 3,100 meters. This area features plenty of huge drumlins and a great range of altitude, with deep ice gorges and thin air, where inland expedition team had travelled with difficulty. It was named after satellite image mapping in 2000.
