This name originates from China. It is part of the China Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

There are two close islands located in the anchorage are in Zhongshan Station. The southern island has a shrip shape and the northern one is larger and oval. They were named by Shaohong Yuan, the captain of R/V XUELONG, when surveying and mapping in 1999.
