This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The rocky peak rising to 1650 m on the W coast of Pernik Peninsula, Loubet Coast in Graham Land. Situated 12.85 km SE of Álvarez Point, 8.2 km SW of Barziya Peak, 17.15 km NE of Bartholin Peak and 15.35 km E of Hooke Point. Steep and partly ice-free W slopes. Surmounts Lallemand Fjord to the W, Field Glacier to the N and its tributary Narezne Glacier to the NE, and Haefeli Glacier to the SSE. British mapping in 1978. Named after Zhelyu Zhelev (1935-2015), President of Bulgaria 1990-1997, for his support for the Bulgarian Antarctic programme.
