This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The 4 km wide cove indenting for 2.35 km the SE coast of Elephant Island in the South Shetland Islands. Entered N of Endurance Point and S of the end of Endurance Glacier. Surmounted by Mount Elder on the SW. Formed as a result of the retreat of Endurance Glacier in the first decade of 21st century. British mapping of the area in 2009. Named after the ancient Thracian region of Sintika in Souhwestern Bulgaria.
