This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The ice-covered ridge extending 7.5 km in SE-NW direction and 1.8 km wide, rising to 1800 m on the NW side of Rouen Mountains in northern Alexander Island. Situated 30.9 km SW of Cape Arauco, the island's NE extremity, 5.77 km WSW of Mount Bayonne and 9.4 km NW of Mount Paris, and 29.95 km NE of Mount Newman in Havre Mountains. Surmounts Bongrain Ice Piedmont to the W and SW. Vicinity visited on 6 January 1988 by the geological team of Christo Pimpirev and Borislav Kamenov (First Bulgarian Antarctic Expedition), and Philip Nell and Peter Marquis (British Antarctic Survey). British mapping in 1991.
Named after the ancient Thracian fortress of Talaskara in Southeastern Bulgaria.
