This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

The oval-shaped 220 m long in SE-NW direction and 130 m wide lake on eastern Byers Peninsula, Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands. Surface area 1.94 ha. Situated in the W foothills of Urvich Wall and centred 2.77 km NE of Dometa Point and 3.4 km S of Nedelya Point. Drains northwards into Barclay Bay by way of Bedek Stream.

Named For

Named after the Oreads, mountain nymphs of Greek mythology.
