Names that other countries have for this feature:
A mountain on the southern side of the Byrd Glacier, rising to 1642m.
Discovered by the Northern Party of the New Zealand Geological and Survey Antarctic Expedition (1960-61) who so named it because the long spiny summit ridge resembled a "lizard". Tuatara are however, Sphenodonts, not lizards (under Squamata), the last extant species of the group in the order Rhynchoephalia. The word tuatara in te reo Maori also means peaks/spines on the back.
