Narrative

A pond between Suess Glacier and Lacroix Glacier in Taylor Valley, Victoria Land. Feature depicted on: NZ AntTopo50-MF09

Named For

So named by Troy L. Péwé, U.S. geologist who visited the area in December 1957, because of the mummified seals found around the pond. The feature is approximately 22km inland from Explorers Cove, New Harbour from whence the seals presumably came.
