This name originates from Bulgaria. It is part of the Bulgaria Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The mostly ice-covered island 511 m long in W-E direction and 177 m wide in the Dannebrog Islands group of Wilhelm Archipelago in the Antarctic Peninsula region. Surface area 5.18 ha. Situated 4 km N by W of the W extremity of Booth Island, 540 m SE of Meduza Island, 2.96 km SSW of Kosatka Island and 1.61 km NW of Rollet Island.
So named because of its shape supposedly resembling a trailer mounted rocket ('raketa' in Bulgarian), and in association with other descriptive names of islands in the area.
