A small, clearly defined rock exposure SSE of Russel Nunatak, close to the route of the southern journey of ANARE parties in 1954, 1955 and 1956. Located about 44 km south-east of Mawson. Seen first by Robert Dovers during the ANARE southern journey of 1954. Named after R.G. McNair, cook at Mawson in 1955.
