A low, rocky, bean-shaped island, close to the coast about 4 km south-west of Mawson. Mapped by Norwegian cartographers from air photographs taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition (1936-37). Included in a ground survey by J.C. Armstrong in 1959.
Named after K. Peake-Jones, weather observer at Mawson in 1959.
