This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.

Narrative

An isolated, submerged rock about 5 km due north of Magnetic Island, off the Vestfold Hills. Least depth is probably not more than 3 m. The rock was struck by M.V. Kista Dan on 29 January, 1955.

Named For

Named after Captain Hans Christian Petersen, master of the MV Kista Dan.
