Narrative

An ice-covered cape facing the Davis Sea, about 26 km WNW of Adams Island. This feature marks the boundary between Queen Mary Land the Wilhelm II Land. Discovered by the Western Base Party of AAE (1911-14). Named by Sir Douglas Mawson after Dr Wilhelm Filchner, leader of the German Antarctic Expedition (1911-12).
