Narrative

The Subglacial Highlands are within the Australian Antarctic Territory at the north-west end of the Wilkes Subglacial Basin. They run NNE-SSW and separate the Webb Subglacial Trench from the main part of the Wilkes Subglacial Basin. Discovered and mapped by radio echo sounding by the Scott Polar Research Institute.

Named For

Named after the Southern Cross (Captain B Jensen), the ship of the British Expedition 1898-1900.
