This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
A large heavily crevassed ice dome in the Prince Charles Mountains measuring about 15 x 15 km. The pressure ridges especially make this feature stand out.
Named after Egon Wehrle ,former glaciological technical officer, who contributed to the success of traverses by providing technical support especially by building and operating ice drills.
