This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
A small island, about 85 m above sea level, about 6 km west of Austnes Skerries in the northern part of Edward VIII Gulf.
Mapped from air photographs taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition (1936-37) and called Kleppen (The Lump (of flour)) by Norwegian cartographers.
