An island in the southern part of the Windmill Islands, off the Budd Coast, about 3 km east of Holl Island. Plotted from air photographs taken by USN Operation Highjump (1946-47). A landing was made there by an ANARE party led by Phillip Law in January, 1956. Named by USACAN for Homer D Ford, Photographic Officer US Operation Highjump 1946-47, and Assistant Photographic Officer US Operation Windmill 1948.
