An island just north of Stornes Peninsula in the Larsemann Hills. Plotted from air photographs taken by the Lars Christensen Expedition 1936-37 and called Storneskalven (the Big Cape Calf).
Named after Sqd Ldr. J Sandercock, RAAF, Mawson 1957. Sqd Ldr Sandercock carried out the first flight from Davis to the end of Prydz Bay in 1957.
