This name originates from Australia. It is part of the Australian Antarctic Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
The largest of a group of three islands lying about 1.1 km north-west of the western end of Stornes Peninsula in the Larsemann Hills.
Named after Graham Knuckey, Surveyor at Mawson in 1958, who obtained an astrofix on the island and left a message on February 8 1958 from Phillip Law. The message was found by the 1987 summer party.
