That portion of the coast of Wilkes Land lying between Cape Morse, in 13010E, and Pourquoi Pas Point, in 13611E. Discovered in January 1840 by Capt. Jules Dumont d'Urville, who recognized the existence of land lying S of the ice cliffs to which he applied the name "Cote Clarie," after Madame Jacquinot, wife of the captain of his second ship, the Zelee. |
