Ice-covered peninsula about 18 mi long, lying W of Henry Inlet on the N side of Thurston Island. Plotted from air photos taken by USN Operation HighJump in December 1946. Named by US-ACAN for Jerry Hughes, photographer's mate with the USN Bellingshausen Sea Expedition in February 1960, who took aerial photographs of Thurston Island from helicopters.
