La Expedición Antártica de Chile 1947-1948, al mando del capitán de navío Ernesto González Navarrete, le dio el nombre isla Gral. Aurelio Celedón por el Comandante en Jefe de la Fuerza Aérea de Chile, general del aire Aurelio Celedón Palma, y con ese nombre figuró en cartas de 1948. Posteriormente, en 1951, se cambió a isla Aurelio Celedón. El nombre actual se usa desde 1959. Pequeño islote situado a 2,1 millas al NW de cabo Legoupil y a 100 metros al N de isla Bulnes, frente a la costa occidental de la península Tierra de O'Higgins. |
