SE of Joinville Island and including Heroine Island, Beagle Island, Comb Island, Darwin Island, Platter Island, Earle Island and Dixey Rock, were roughly charted by Ross, 28 December 1842, and named Danger Isles because they were concealed by heavy pack ice until his ship was almost upon them (BA chart 1238, 1844). Group of islands lying 13 mi ESE of Joinville Island. Discovered Dec. 28, 1842 by a British expedition under Ross, who so named them because, appearing among heavy fragments of ice, they were almost completely concealed until the ship was nearly upon them. |

Fueron descubiertos el 28 de diciembre de 1842 por la Expedición Inglesa al mando del capitán James Clark Ross quien los denominó "Danger", pues aparecen en medio de gruesos fragmentos de hielo los cuales los ocultan casi completamente hasta que el buque está encima de ellos. Éstos están formados por un grupo de islotes, situados a 11 millas al ESE de punta Moody en isla Joinville, al NE de la península Luis Felipe. |
